The first will of Roderick Jenkins, dated June 22, 1799 is transcribed as follows:

In the name of God Amen, I Roderick Jenkins of Sumner County and State of Tennessee, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, blessed be almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following ????, whenever it pleases divine providence to take me out of this life, to which I devoutly submit, my will and desire is that whatever land or real estate I then shall leave may (be) equally divided between my four sons named William Jenkins, Rhody Jenkins, James Jenkins and Samuel Jenkins and to descend and belong to them their heirs and assigns forever and it is also my will and desire that all my personal estate of what nature or kind source which I may leave at my decease after just debts and funeral expence are paid and discharged shall be equally divided between my four sons and three daughters namely; William Jenkins, Polly Donoho, Jenny Jenkins, Rosetta Jenkins, Rhody Jenkins, James Jenkins and Samuel Jenkins and to descend and belong to them their heirs and assigns forever, provided that my will and desire is that my wife Nancy Jenkins shall be supported out of my property during her life or widowhood. I justly appoint my wife Nancy Jenkins and my son William Jenkins Executrix and Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 22nd day of June 1799.

The second will of Roderick Jenkins, dated October 22, 1822 is transcribed as follows:

In the year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Eighteen hundred and twenty two in the name of God amen. First I will my body to be decently interred and commend my soul to God who gave it and after my funeral espenses are paid I will my estate as follows (to wit) that all my property to be sold & my well beloved wife Nancy Jinkins shall have the money for her use & support during her natural life or widowhood & after her decease or marriage whatever is left to be divided as follows: one dollar to my daughter Nancy Dagner, one dollar to my son John Jenkins, one dollar to my daughter Sally Murphy & the rest equally divided between my sons William, Roderic, James and Samuel & my daughter Polly Donohoe & Jane Parkhurst and Lilly Canaday. I pronounce and declare this to be my last will & testament disanulling all others made by me or any other person in my name which I will now sign with mine own hand.

OAH JENKINS:
Noah was in Smith Co., TN before 03-08-1808 as he witnessed the signing of John Rhodes' will on that date. Calvin Gregory, in a personal interview with Matilda Emaline Jenkins, (who lived past the age of 100), learned that Noah settled on Long Creek (present day Macon Co., TN) in 1804 after living in Allen Co., KY and prior to that had settled on the upper part of Defeated Creek (Smith Co., TN at the time) with other family members.
