 Includes NotesNotes for John N Huser:
The name Huser is pronounced as Hoosier (WHO-zher), like the nickname for Indiana.
I have found what appears to be the right John Huser in Germany, but lack information on his family. His family was living in the District (Ritteramt) of Gnoien, in the State of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, which was formerly a Grand Duchy. Because of sourcing access problems, I do not have the total details. His name there in German is as we would expect Johann Huser.

Johann Huser [Birth: date - location, city] Division (Ritteramt) Gnoien

In 1910, John is in Stuttgart, the northern county seat of Arkansas County, Arkansas. He is a single man boarding with several others. John is working as a laborer.

1910 Federal Census, Arkansas County, Arkansas, 21 April, Prairie Township, District 24, page 8A, Hse #147, Fam #148
Huser, John Boarder M W 22 Single LA Germany Germany

Note that this census reports him as born in Louisiana, and both his parents born in Germany. However, his WWI Draft registration and report that John himself was born in n Germany, and specifically that he is a naturalized citizen. This reference to Louisiana probably tells us the port through which the family entered the US, New Orleans.

In 1917, John was married and living in Ethel, Prairie Township, Arkansas County, Arkansas. His WWI Draft Registration gives us the following information:

John Huser, b 16 June 1888, Germany, naturalized citizen; Farmer near Ethel, Arkansas, married, wife's name not given; Blue eyes, Light hair; registration in St Charles, Arkansas, Arkansas, 3 June 1917.

1930 Federal Census, Arkansas County, Arkansas, ? April, Stuttgart Ward 1, District 6, page 13B, Hse #147, Fam #148
Huser, John N Head M W 42 22 yrs age at marriage Germany Germany Germany Immigrated 1891, Cotton Farmer;
Huser, Lilly Wife F W 44 24 yrs age at marriage AR AR AR

Note that the census reports that John married at age 22. This is the age he reported in the 1910 census. This means that he and Lillie married after April 1910.

In the 1940s, John and Lillie were living in Humphrey, another town in Arkansas County, Arkansas. The WWI Draft Registration for John does not have a date, but his age is given as 53, which would make this 1941 or 1942. Others I have seen with dates have 1942.

John Huser, b 16 June 1888, Holland, naturalized citizen; Self-employed [no occupation, but probably farmer]; residence Humphrey, address General Delivery, Arkansas, married, wife's name Lilly Huser; Blue eyes, Light hair; registration in St Charles, Arkansas, Arkansas, 3 June 1917.

Notice that he now reports his place of birth as Holland, a safer bet in 1942, when Germany was the enemy of the allies, and Holland was one of the overrun territories later to be liberated by the allies. I see Lillie's name is spelled Lilly here.

I found his death date, but no location, in the Social Security Death Index:
John Huser Born: 16 Jun 1888, Died: Nov 1965; SSN 431-44-9716 issued Arkansas (Before 1951); residence Arkansas
