Bowen, Esq., at one o'clock, in the presence of the parents of both parties and a large circle of kindred, HENRY CHAPIN JILLSON of Whitehall and Miss SUSIE PARSONS BOWEN were united in holy wedlock by Rev. F. Widmer of Watertown, N.Y.

David Jillson Genealogy, 63, Silas Howland, who had the kindness to send me (David Jillson) the foregoing record of his father's family, says in his letter, - "We are all temperance men, and all profess to be Christians. Are neither rich or poor. We have good farms, and good buildings for farmers in this section of the country."

16. Local History Sketches, - Nathan Taylor Jilson was the son of Joseph Jillson.... About 1832, Joseph went into his uncle Calvin's grocery store as a clerk, and remained with him until the death of (Calvin) in 1844, when he (Joseph) started in the grocery business for himself.
17. David Jillson Genealogy, 108-110, At the age of eighteen, becoming tired of the monotony of country life, he left the paternal roof, in opposition to the wishes of his father. In the autumn of 1845, at the age of twenty, he went to Worcester, Mass., where he now resides (1876). In 1851, he published a volume of poems, entitled, "Inklings of Song," and in 1853 he delivered a poem before the Worcester Mechanics Association, entitled, "Progress Attreibuted to the Laboring Classes," which was also published. During all this time he was a laborer in the workshops of Worcester, but in 1854 he removed to Southbridge, Mass., and became the editor and proprietor of teh Southbridge Press. In October of the same year he was nominated a s candidate for the General Court, but not having been a resident of the town long enough to meet the requirements of the constitution, another person was nominated and elected. In 1860, he was appointed a messenger at the State House, Boston, where he served during the session of the Legislature of that year. In April, 1860 he was appointed by the Governor, Clerk of the Police Court of Worcester, and also commissioned as Justice of the Peace for the County of Worcester, which office he now holds. (1876). The office of Clerk having been made elective, he was elected to that office by popular vote of the city of Worcester in 1861, and again in 1866. In 1871 he resigned the office of clerk, and was appointed Chief Justice of the first District Court of Southern Worcester, which office he now holds. (1876). In 1872 he was appointed Trial Justice of Juvenile Offenders for the County of Worcester, and re-appointed in 1875. In Dec., 1872, he was elected Mayor of the city of Worcester, and again in 1874. He was re-elected to the same office in 1875, which position he now occupies (1876). His mechanical ability has been displayed by obtaining about twenty patents.

Lived in Richmond, his native town, till he was eighteen, then went to Gardner, Mass. and worked in a chair shop; remained one year, then went to Warwick, Mass. and resided there three years, then returned to Gardner, Mass. Resided in South Gardner, Mass. In my copy of the David Jillson Genealogy, the mother-in-laws name (which I have guessed is Rhodia) is nearly rubbed out. The name Rhodia is a 'best guess' on my part. 22. Letter written by Frank B. Jillson - Titled Life Records, written January 1946, Page 1, Frank Bowen Jillson, son of Henry C. and Susie B. Jillson, was born in Whitehall, N.Y., September 15, 1873. Attended the Whitehall High School - Rensselaer Polytecnic, Plattsburgh State Normal and Albany Business College. Taught school for several years and entered business in New York City in 1899. Married Gertrude B. Hunter of Auburn, N.Y, daughter of Sylvester P. and Nora Y. Hunter on August 9, 1905 at 30 Park Avenue, Auburn, N.Y. Rev. C.J. Beach, pastor of the C.E.Church, Weedsport, N.Y. officiating. Ruth Bowen Jillson, daughter, was born in Sloan Hospital, 59th Street and 10th Avenue, May 10, 1910 and was baptized by Rev. Chas.M.Jefferson. in the Broadway Tabernacle, NY City, October 9, 1910. Harold Hunter Jillson, son, was born in 940 Forx Street, The Bronx, N.Y. City, April 5, 1912 and was baptized June 8, 1912 in the Broadway Tabernacle by Rev. Chas. E. Jefferson. Moved in 1913 from New York to Palisades Park, N.J. and lived there until December 1916 when we moved into our new home at 236 Christie Heights, Leonia, New Jersey. On February 23, 1924 - Gertrude H. Jillson, wife of Frank B. Jillsons was suddenly taken out of this life to be with her Saviour - age 46 years. In January 1940, Frank B. Jillson resigned from the firm of Pickslay & Company having been an employee of that concern since 1900 and at the present writing (January 1946) is still living at 236 Christie Heights, Leonia. On October 7, 1917 Mr. and Mrs Frank B. Jillson united, by Certificate of Transfer from the Broadway Tabernacle Church of N.Y. City, with the Presbyterian Church in Leonia, N>J> During the month of November 1921 Mr. Jillson was ordained and installed as an Elder in the Church and since April 1934 to the present writing has acted as Clerk of Session. Has also for several years preceding and following his ordination Superintendant of the Bible School. .

26. David Jillson Genealogy, 110-111, Harvey D. Jillson was a physician and surgeion. His parents removed from Whitingham, (his native town) to Charlemont, Franklin Co., Mass., in 1836, when the subject of this sketch was about two years of age. He attended the District School and Academy at Charlemont, and at Franklin Academy, Shelburne Falls, till Sept., 1853, when he went to Worcester, Mass., and engaged in any honorable occupation that would supply funds with which to obtain a professional education. He studied medicine in Worcester with J.W. Martin, M.D., and F. H. Kelly, M.D. Attended medical lectures at Worcester and Harvard Medical Schools, graduating at the former. In April, 1860, he commenced the practice of medicine in Leominster, Mass.; removed in June, 1864 to Ashburnham, Mass., where in 1866, he was elected a member of the school committee in that town for three years. In Aug., 1868, he removed to Fitchburg, Mass, and at a convention held in Boston, June, 1874, he was elected President of the Massachusetts Eclectic Medical Society" and Vice-President of the 'National Eclectic Medical Association'. having been a member of said Association three years; and for the last eleven years, Secretary and Treasurer of Worcester North District "Eclectic Medical Society". In June, 1875, he was elected to the School Board of the city of Fitchburg, and the December following, re-elected for three years.

A diear duns; ro JoNN, qidw od Jonathan Sweet, 100lbs; to Sarah Jillson, 25lbs, and the remainder to be ivided equally between his brother Osborn and sisters, Nancy Tingley and Hannah Ballou.
31. David Jillson Genealogy, 80, Mr. (Hon. John B. Jillson) is a self-made man. His education was common school, save two years at Clinton Liberal Institute. Read law with hon. John Dickson, of West Bloomfield, N. Y.; removed to Kenosha, Wis., in 1840; admitted to the bar in 1841; practiced law till 1854; was then elected County Judge, and held the office eight years; is now (1876) practicing law, also, editor of the Kenosha Union. He was an early abolitionist and belons to the liberal Unitarian Church.
32. David Jillson Genealogy, 30, Resided in Cumberland till after the birth of their daughter Mary, then removed to Glocester, R.I. From Glocester they removed to Douglas, Mass; then to Pomfret, Ct; next to Putnam, Ct; from Putnam to Paxton, Mass: then to Rutland, Mass, next to Royalston, Mass, and finally and lastly to Richmond, N.H. Their seven oldest children were probably born in Cumberland, as their births are there recorded. Nothing is known of his daughters, as to who, when and where they married. Jonathan was a Farmer.

34. David Jillson Genealogy, 125, Justus Kendall Jillson was appointed State Superintendent of Education, for the State of South Carolina.
35. Local History Sketches, Laura Ann Jillson married Alwyn Martin and had six children. She used to tell how she was one of the little girls who strewed flowers before Lafayette, and how he stooped and took her up in his arms and kissed her.

David Jillson Genealogy, 79-80, His daughter, Floretta, who kindly sent me (David Jillson) the family record, says that her father was a democrat all the days of his life, a great lover of his country, and with his latest prayer went up petitions for her safety and honor. He never was a member of any church, yet when death came, it found him ready. his death was peaceful and triumphant. She adds, in relation to her branch of the Jillson family, that 'we never any of us stole sheep; neither have we been to jail or State prison; have preserved the Jillson name, taking nothing therefrom. indeed, I think I may say that the name in this town and county is current coin.' Philander died intestate.

He was a young man that had been employed on a farm in Boonville for one or two years. they eloped and married unknown to her father and friends. May the be as happy as they deserve.'.
