Welcome to "The Living South". I started this project looking for information on my grandfather Johnson. He died before his grandchildren were born. We knew very little about him, his name was the only thing we knew. Our grandmother remarried her childhood sweetheart after grandpa died. On the census for Bastrop Co.,TX, we discovered they lived about 5 miles apart. As I started looking I found our family was deep seeded in the South. Alabama, S.C., Tenn. & Texas. My grandmother Feaster's family lived in Alabama but had moved there from S.C. At this point in my research I have found long lost cousins and many friendly people who have helped me. I'm now working on the Tombstone project and trying to obtain my certificate in genealogy. Recently I bought the 1-2-3 introduction genealogy for my oldest grandaughter to start her own family tree. Working on a website to help others find lost ones and information on family members they knew nothing about. As for myself, my father was Lloyd Johnson, born in Tex., as were my brothers & myself. Welcome to the world addiction of genealogy. Have fun!
