The Johnson family were resident in North West Nottinghamshire during the eighteenth century, the family have been traced back to George & Mary Johnson who lived in the Nottinghamshire parish of Norton Cuckney, their son George baptised in 1794 married Charlotte Stubbings of Whitwell, Derbyshire in 1817, in the Norton Cuckney parish church. Around 1820 the family moved to Creswell, North East Derbyshire, and the story goes on from there, criss-crossing the Derbyshire - Nottinghamshire boundary with the occasional foray into South Yorkshire. Any information will be welcome and any information which I have which is useful to other family researchers will gladly be passed on. This site will be updated as and when information is available. |
