Descendants of Henry Disbrough

Generation No. 1

1. HENRY1 DISBROUGH was born in poss. NJ., and died in Montgomery Co., NY.. He married CATHERINE.

Notes for H
ENRY DISBROUGH:
We have very little definite information on this man. He first shows up (as “Henry Desbrow”) in the 1790 census of Mohawk, Mongomery Co., NY, listed with 2 males under 16 years of age and 3 females. In 1810 and 1820 a Henry Disbrow is listed in the town of Florida, Montgomery Co., which might be the same man. Gravestone and census records of his son John show John was born in New Jersey.
There is the possibility he is the same person as Henry Disborough (son of Joseph 4 of the Henry of Mamaroneck line) who m, Catherine Johnstone and had a son Eli born 1789 in New Jersey, but there is a distinct lack of evidence there as the son Eli stayed in NJ.
The children listed here are questionably his, particularly Ursula, Henry and Susan, but are found in records in the area. The only record we have of his wife’s name is from the daughter Catherine’s gravestone in Charleston, NY, where it says she was the dau., of Henry & Catharine Disbrow.
