As it has been since the establishment of the cemetery in 1854, the Johnson family members are responsible for maintaining the cemetery. Volunteers gather to cut and trim grass, clean and straighten grave markers, and clear the fence area. Families are responsible for the individual care of grave sites. This arrangement allows for the fund to accumulate without spending any of the donations. Not one cent of the fund has been spent since it was begun some twenty-five years ago. We need to continue to be faithful to this project, both in volunteering our services and giving financially, so that this sacred family burial ground will always reflect our reverence for those who came before us.

The fund grows through donations as they are received throughout the year. Memorials are often sent to honor a loved one who has passed on.
