Daniel Johnson was born on October 10,1751. He served in the Revolutionary War as part of the 6th South Carolina Regiment. In the early 1800's, Daniel travelled to Mississippi and finally settled in Copiah County. Daniel's wife, Sallie Mann, died before Daniel came to Mississippi. Their son,Clark, was married to Margaret Boler. Clark's son was named Clark Mann Johnson. Clark M. Johnson served as a private in Company B of the 36th Mississippi Infantry (Zollicoffer's Avengers) for the Confederate States in the War Between the States. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth Nesom. Their children lived in Copiah, Leake, and Madison Counties. The Johnson Cemetery in Copiah County is the location of the burial sites for Daniel, Clark, Margaret, Clark M., and Sarah Elizabeth, as well as numerous descendants. Lottville Cemetery in Madison County also contains graves of many Johnson descendants.

Daniel's descendants are eligible for membership in various patriotic organizations because of his service to our nation in the American Revolution. Male descendants can become members of the Sons of the American Revolution and female descendants are eligible for membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Likewise, Clark Mann Johnson's service in the Confederate States of America Army makes his descendants eligible for membership in either the Sons of Confederate Veterans or United Daughters of the Confederacy. If you have a desire to become a members of any of these organizations, contact me and I will be glad to assist you.

If you (or someone you know) have pictures of ancestors that you are willing to share, I would be happy to make them a part of this family history. Please let me know if this information has been helpful to you.
