Clyde worked at Danny Knight's Garage in Franklinville, NY as a mechanic for most of his life.
Clyde and Hyla lived in Farmersville, NY across the street from the Roblees until the late 1940s. They moved to Franklinville, NY and set up housekeeping at 22 North Academy Street. They lived here until in the early 1960's Clyde and Hyla sold their home, bought a mobil home, and set it up near the famous old spring-watering troth at Farmersville Center across from a cemetery there.

Clyde L. Blackmon of Franklinville died in Olean General Hospital, Saturday September 13, 1969 after a brief illness.
Born April 26, 1893 in Farmersville, he was a son of Albert and Nora Davis Blackmon. On October 9, 1922 he married the former Hyla Marie Warner who survives.
Mr. Blackmon was a retired auto mechanic and had worked for several area automobile agencies.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9487, the Franklinville Conservation Club, and the Western New York Gas and Steam Engine Association, Inc.
Surviving in addition to his widow are four daughters, Mrs. William (Gwendolyn) McGill and Mrs. Royal (Phyllis) Preston of Franklinville, NY; Mrs. Daniel (Marilyn) Pennell of Killbuck, NY, and Mrs. Milton (Vera) Pierce of Sardina; 18 Grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Milton Tooley of Attica and Mrs. Veva Norton of Franklinville and a brother, Ralph Blackmon of Delevan, NY.
Friends may call at the Babbitt and Allen Funeral Home, 7 North Main Street, Franklinville from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday September 16, 1969 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Walter Beabout, minister of the Franklinville Free Methodist Church will be officiating. Burial will be in Siloam Cemetery, Town of Freedom.
