This is just west of Dingwall which is about 15 miles northwest of Inverness. His wife was Mary Miller. Alexander's parents were Charles and Christian McKenzie Matheson. They died in the 1780s in the same region of Scotland. There were at least three siblings; two brothers Finley and John and a sister Christian. I am trying to link them to the Mathesons of Bennetsfield on the Black Isle, which is very near Fodderty Parish.
