OUT OF MANY COMES ONE FAMILY
"The lyrics of an African folk song say that when an old person dies it's as if a library has burned down" It is true for many of us!. There's a richness of family heritage in each person's life that will be lost if it isn't passed on to the next gerenation. For many of us on this tree, our early beginnings start in Africa, a miniscule portion in Austraila, Europe, India and branching to the Americas, linked through genetics, marriages and various races, for a common goal and unity. Though goals and lifestyles varies in this day of communication super highway, one does not find quality time to "keep in touch". How do we hold on to our heritage in a time when family members live miles apart, believe in different ideas or choose to accept a wide array of cultures? The answer is that one value (give energy, time, thought and support to) the concept of family (a group that has a common foundation, where basic needs are met, and whose members cooperate in ways, especially in the upbringing of children). If we come together from time to time perhaps not in body, butthrough the various communication technologies that are available to us, to share and look at where we've been, where we are and where we are going.
