Carol Veal is seeking the parents of Eliza (or Elizabeth) Jane Jernigan, b. in 1817 in NC, m. Daniel Stone Hood c1833. He was b. 21 Jan 1812 in Goldsboro, Wayne Co., NC. By 1833 they were living in Barbour Co., AL where Daniel was listed in the state census as over 21 living with four females under 21. Their first child was born in 1835, so I don't know who else was living with them in 1833.

Thomas James Barnes (my ancestor); Eliza Jane Hood b. 1837; Daniel Stone Hood b. before 20 Sept. 1838; Charlotte Jane Hood b. 1841; Sarah Jane Hood b. 1843; John Cogdell Hood b. 1845; Gustavous Adolphus Hood b. 1847; Bold Richard Hood b. 1849; Martha Jane Hood b. about 1852; Tolbert Van Dorris Hood b. 13 June 1856 and Arthur Elzy Hood b. about 1862.

Bold Robin Hood had connections with the Jernigan family. He was the guardian of Calvin Jernigan circa 1822 , Johnston Co., NC court records. Bold Robin Hood was a witness with Joseph Strickland on 14 Dec. 1811 in Johnston Co. when Lewis Jernigan gave a deed of a gift to his son Wiley. Bold Robin Hood, born 5 Dec. 1767 Johnston Co., NC , m. March 1800 to Mary Cogdell b. Oct. 1767. Her parents were Francis Cogdell b. 3 Nov. 1744 and Selah Boone b. circa 1746-50. On 15 Oct. 1764 deed in Johnston Co., NC: Henry Jernigan to Lewis Jernigan; 200 acres on Mills Creek adj. Hardy Bryant, Wm. Killingsworth; wit: Joseph Boon and Jacob Stevens. 5 May 1780 Johnston Co., NC deed: Lewis Jernigan from Jethro Odom of Dobbs Co.; Mill Branch; wit: Joseph Boon and Robert Eacherson. Lewis Jernigan 1781 Rev. War Patriot; supplies to Joseph Boon; witness: Harriet Lee. Johnston Co., NC 13 August 1799 Lewis Jernigan, Court, Elizabeth Blackman; John Atkinson; Abraham Gamelian; Joseph Boon. I am interested in Jernigan connections with Barnes, Bell, Boon, Cogdell, Stone circa 1700-1850. ALBERT MARCHMAN had been an overseer on a large plantation. He was a
planter, a slave owner, and he was particully interested in fine hunting horses.
He was included in the Land Lottery List of GA for 1827, as being a fortunate
drawer from Capt. Clark's District, Putman Co., GA, No. 145, District 11, Sect.1,
for lands in Lee Co., GA. "Reprint of Official Register of Land Lottery of GA,
1827," by Martha Lou Houston, (1928), p.86.
In the 1830 Census of Putman Co., GA: ALBERT MARCHMAN was included:
1 male between 20-30 years; 1 female between 20-30 years;
