He lived and practiced medicine in Florence, Oregon, from 1935 to 1969. After
graduation from U. of Oregon Medical School in Portland, he worked for a time
as a physician for the city of Portland.
He and his family lived for many years in a house which came to be located
inside the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area on a azalea and rhododendrun-
encircled lake. He was rather short in stature. He was a boxer in college and
a trumpet player in the band.
