Notes for Edith C. Dunn: This was Edward North's half-sister with whom he was well acquainted; she lived in Corvallis. She, of course, was a generation older than he was. I (Elaine) met her when I was a little girl. Dad was very fond of Edith.
When her mother, Hannah Lloyd Dunn, died of typhoid fever, Edith (age 6) was sent to live with relatives, possibly her Uncle Hamlin, a medical doctor in Kansas City. We have no information how often her father visited his children in the midwest in their growing up years. However, she did move to Corvallis as a young woman, so there probably was enough contact over the years for a bond to have developed between them.
