11. French Canadian & Acadian Genealogical Review, Vol. VI Nos. 3.4 1978, p. 157, The Canadian Boulays are all descended from Robert Boulay, of Saint-Germaine de Loise. We read from the Montagne notarial register that that the Boulay family had been represented at Loise from the 16th century. Robert Boullay, a cloth weaver, living at Loise, appears in an act of 22 Oct. 1587 (Leblond notary at Mortagne. A Nicole Chauvin widow of Vincent Boulay, of the same place, contracted in turn, on 16 April 1611. States more about other Boulays, possibly family members.

Spellings Boule and Brunette are different from records microfilmed at Drouin Institute, Montreal. Since this is a primary source, these will be considered correct. Father Joseph Boule is verified by census records. Cyrille is a brother of Charles. as verified by Cyrille's marriage record which states Joseph and Julienne Leduc Boule as his parents.
