| Welcome to my home page. These are my ancestors dating back to the 1600's. The main families are: AMIS, HITE, and PURYEAR. The Amis and Puryear families arrived in southeastern Virginia before 1700. It is said they were Huguenots, but this hasn't been proven. From there, they essentially followed the same route to North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, Illinois, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. The newest additions belong to my Husband's family and the main names here are: HOWELL, JEFFRIES; HUMPHREY; and MARKS. These families have also been here since before 1700, mainly in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Other surnames include: ALLEN, CHANDLER, FORLINES/FORELINES, LOFTIS and TALLY. If you have any additional information on these families, please contact me. Thanks for visiting. |
