Notes for W
ILLIAM EDWIN FLINT:
I Have been told by Joanne Flint, who was told by her father Stuart Gordon Flint, (who is doing research on the Flints) that, William Edwin's father was buried in a paupers grave in Ashbourne Church Cemetery......another distant relative, William, way back in the 1840's was supposedly an Officer of the local law keepers, in the Hartington/Biggin area... but in time was mixed up in some crooked dealings, and was himself hunted by the law. He supposedly went to London, where after a while, traded as a horse dealer and carter. He was last heard of in Wales, having married there, but may have returned to the Buxton area. Other relatives were farmers at Hartington/Biggin/Leek, whilst another was station master at Parsley Hay on the newly opened Cromford-Whaley Bridge (nr Stockport) line, a branch of which went to Middleton Top. He retired to Middleton but was supposedly a drunk. His wife was killed in an accident.

ILLIAM EDWIN FLINT:
Background Notes: The Flints, I have been told by Stuart Flint, were supposed to originate from Biggin By Hartington nr Buxton, and were a mixed bag of "ner do wells" and fairly prosperous people. William Edward's father is buried in a paupers grave in Ashbourne Church Cem.
Death fact: William died in a quarry, apparently he was driving the crane in a quarry, and the crane fell over into the quarry fire killing him.
