My GGGGgrandfather, Dennis Purcell, was the son of Samuel Purcell and Elizabeth Lawrence. He owned a large farm near Boston on the Rolling Fork River in Nelson County, Kentucky and was a justice of the peace. The land upon which he lived had once belonged to his grandfather, Solomon Lawrence, he having received a thousand acre land grant for service rendered during the Revolution. Dennis was married to Jane Duvall in 1826. They are buried in the Old Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Nelson County.
