Henry Johnson and Elizabeth Morris
My GGGgrandparents, Henry Johnson (1809-1889) and Elizabeth Morris Johnson (1809-1886). They were married in Green County, Kentucky in 1828 by the Rev. John D. Oaks. Henry was the son of Isom Johnson and Sally Warren. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Morris and Susannah Thorpe. Henry was a farmer, miller and distiller of whiskey. During the Civil War he was one of the largest distillers in Taylor County, Kentucky and also an ardent Southern Sympathizer. The couple's oldest son, Jesse Johnson, served in Company F of the 4th Kentucky Infantry, CSA.
