My GGgranduncle, Walter Caulk, was the son of William Caulk and Eliza Jane Hoback of Larue County, Kentucky. Walter married Ada Belle Allen in 1897. They had several children. Walter was killed near "The Big Rock" on Otter Creek on 5 October 1925 by his nephew, Andy Brewer. It was said that the two had some sort of disagreement over some bootleg whiskey but exact details of the event are unknown to me. I have been to the location of the murder several times. Several men were gathered near the creek bank playing poker and indulging in liquor when the murder occurred.
