Jeremiah Hedgespeth was born September 30, 1830 in Green Co., Kentucky and died December 25, 1913 in Taylor Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Matthew Hedgespeth (son of James Henry) and Sally Hedgespeth (dau. of Holland Sr.) who were married in Green Co. on August 6, 1823. Jeremiah was married to Rebecca Jane Bell on April 22, 1851 in Taylor County. Rebecca was born September 11, 1835 in Green County and died January 13, 1910 in Taylor County. She was the daughter of John Barnett Bell and Mourning Oaks. Her maternal grandfather was the Rev. John D. Oaks, a very early and active minister in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Jeremiah and Rebecca are my GGGGgrandparents.
