Notes for Serug (Saragh) ben Reu King of Ur And Agade: Note: Serug ben Reu the Semite was born 2185 BCE in Ur "of the Chaldees", northern Chaldea. He was the son of Reu ben Peleg the Semite and 'Ôrâ bat 'Ûr ben Kesed. He married Melka bat Kaber the Semite, daughter of Kaber ben Peleg the Semite, 2256 B.C. In 1744 A.M., in the thirty-sixth jubilee, in the fifth week, in the first year thereof; 1st cousins. Jubilees 11:7 "... he took to himself a wife ... and her name was Melka." He grew up, and dwelt in Ur "of the Chaldees," near to the father of his wife's mother, and he worshipped idols, in northern Chaldea. He was per Genesis 11:20 and Luke 3:35, the son of Reu, and per Jubilees 11:1, his wife Ora. Also called Saruch. Also called Sêrôh.
