Jacques Bourgeois (son of Marguerite Bourgeois)¹⁴ was born January 21, 1620/21 in Ferté-Gaucher, FR¹⁴. He married Jeanne Trahan on 1643 in Port Royal, Acadie(Annapolis Royal, NS)¹⁴, daughter of Guillaume Trahan and Francoise Charbonneau.

Jacques Bourgeois, surgeon, colonizer and founder of Beaubassin. He came to Acadia in 1642 with 18 families that Governor Menou D'Aulnay brought to settle Acadia. He was the personal physician of D'Aulnay. In 1672, he established the colony of Bou rgeois, later known as Beaubassin. ( Amherst, N.S. ) In the census of 1698, he was living with his family in Beaubassin. He returned later to Port-Royal.His mother was Marguerite Bourgeois. was in the 1678 census of Port Royal ,was in the 1686 cen sus of Port Royal.
