Notes for SARAH BEATRICE CROSBY: Obituary: Midland Daily News: May 22, 1995 Sarah B. Brown, 90, of Midland, died Saturday morning, May 20, 1995, at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services are tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 26, 1995, with calling hours at the Ware-Smith-Woolever & Co. Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 25, 1995. A full obituary will appear in Wednesday's edition of the Midland Daily News. Obituary: Midland Daily News: May 23, 1995 Sarah Beatrice Brown, 90, of Midland, died Saturday morning, May 20, 1995, at the MidMichigan Regional Medical Center. She was born on Sept. 18, 1904, in Gladwin, the oldest daughter of the late Guy and Ethel Plummer Crosby. The former Sarah Crosby married Sidney Card on Aug. 2, 1922, in Midland. He predeceased her in 1955. She later married Russel Brown on Sept. 18, 1956. He predeceased her in 1982. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Edenville. Surviving is one son, Leigh A. Card and his wife, Mary, of Sanford; one daughter-in-law, Aletha Card of Hope; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are sister Dorothy Greanya and her husband, Harold, of Coalmont, Tenn., and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brown was predeceased by two sons, L. Weldon Card in 1994, and Robert Card in 1958; one daughter-in-law; Pauline Card in 1995; one grandson; five brothers, Cecil, Lenard, Guy, John, and Claude Crosby; and one sister, Thelma Boomer. Sarah's family will miss her deeply, as she was the loving stronghold of the Card-Crosby family. For the past nine years she resided at the Statford Pines Nursing Home and will be dearly remembered as a close friend to many. Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, 1995 fro mthe Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. Pastor Donald will officiate. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Brown's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Edenville. |

Born March 22 ,1908, in Michigan, the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Lemuel Brown, she moved to nacogdoches from Corpus Christi in 1960. She and Eber D. Synder were married, and he died in 1961. She leaves cousins, Bernice Hoffman and Alma Stalze of Saginaw, Michigan. Pallbearers will be Gary Wheeler, Ricky Wheeler, and Buddy Sitton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
