Mrs. Lambert Dies at Son's Home
Mrs. Margaret Lambert, 66, died suddenly Tuesday at the home of her son, Melvin Berkitt, 2736 North Branch Rd.
She was a former resident of Oregon Township. Her husband, Richard Lambert, died in 1935.
Survivors, besides the son, are a step-daughter, Miss Velma Lambert, Lapeer; 4 brothers, Lem Brown of Coleman, Mich; William Brown of Midland, Gordon Brown of Columbiaville, and Stanford Brown of Flint; on sister, Mrs. Alice Shaw of Flint.
The body will remain at the Baird Funeral Home in Lapeer until noon Saturday when it will be taken to the Oregon EUB Church. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2p.m. by the Rev. Carl Patow with burial in Columbiaville.

Last Rites Today for Richard Lambert
Richard Lambert, Oregon Township farmer, died Sunday morning at the Lapeer City Hospital following an operation on Friday for ruptured appendix.
He was born January 1, 1884, in Harrington, Ont. At the age of 5 years he came to Lapeer County with his parents, and has since made his home in the county. In March 1912 he was married to Miss Amelia Kitchenmaster, who died in May 1917.
In July 1925, he was married to Mrs. Ina Burkitt, who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter, Velma, and a step-son, Melvin Burkitt, both at home; two brothers, Joseph of Columbiaville and Isaac of Flint; four sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Brown of Grayling, Mrs. George Rook of Columbiaville, Mrs. LeRoy Reynolds and Mrs. Naomi Monahan of Flint. He was a member of the Oregon Evangelical church.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Oregon Evangelical Church with Rev. R. C. Saxton officiating and burial at Columbiaville.

Melvin Burkitt, 53, died Saturday, Dec. 21 at Lapeer Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident Dec. 17.
Mr. Burkitt lived at 710 Lake Shore Dr., Columbiaville.
He was born Sept. 1, 1915 in Gladwin Co, Mich. He married Sarah Mabery in North Branch on Oct. 9, 1937. He was a member of North Branch Lodge 312 F & AM, North Branch chapter 138 RAM, past worthy patron of the North Branch Eastern Star, chapter, 149, and a member of the Bay City Consistory.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Burkitt tuesday at the Blackburn Funeral Home, North Branch, The Rev. Ralph Pratt officiating. Burial was in West Deerfield Cemtery.
Survivors include his wife, 1 son, George of East Lansing, and 1 daughter, Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) manville of North Branch. Also 3 uncles, William Brown of Sanford, Michigan, Stanford Brown of Flint, and Gordon Brown of Columbiaville. Also a stepsister, Thelma Lambert of Lapeer.
Other survivors include 6 grandchildren.

The attendants were the bride's brother and sister, Mr. Archie Mabery and Mrs. Chris Margrif., formerly Lois Mabery who was married a few weeks ago. the bride was agraduate of 1933 North Branch High School and latter attended Lapeer County Normal, and recently taught in Oregon Township, the Ferguson district and the Webster Schook in Imlay City.

Alexander F. Kopiwoda, of Shelby Township formerly of Lexington, died Monday, July 22, 1996 in Shelby Nursing Center, Shelby Township at the age of 76 years.
Alex was born December 2, 1919 in Detroit. Mr. Kopiwoda repaired machines at Chrysler Corporation for 20 years, until retiring in 1982. He enjoyed fishing, playing bingo and gardening.
Surviving are his sons, Alex (Sue) of Croswell, Thomas (Terry) of Florida, and Andrew (Elizabeth) of Tennessee; daughters, Diana (John) Monro of Macomb, Susan Derner of Clinton township and Priscilla Draper of Ubly, thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his wife, Ila and daughter, Anna Aman.
A funeral service will take place Thursday, July 25, 1996, 8:00 p.m. at Murphy & Hauss Funeral Directors, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. Rev. Fr. Thomas Sutherland, pastor at St. Therese of Lisieux, Shelby Township will officiate.
