| This tree starts with David Towns born about 1739 in Virginia and died 1794 in North Carolina.David married Hannah Fox in 1764.Son Richard Towns born 1765 North Carolina, had a son named Gideon Towns born 1792 in North Carolina, in 1818,Wilkes County Georgia married Sarah Corbin.Their son Johnson C. Towns born 1819 in Lincoln county, Georgia. Johnson was married 3 times and had 7 children.He was the first postmaster of Towns Georgia.The town was name for him. His son Elisha E. Towns from his second marriage was born 1852 and in 1874 married Mary Jane Walker. My branch of the tree is from their daughter Alice Towns born 1888 in Telfair County Georgia and in 1904 married William Marion Spires. I am also doing research on John Ganzer Spires born 1783/1789 in South Carolina, died 1885 in Telfair County, Georgia and in 1805 married Sarah. This tree is by no means complete.There my be some errors. Not all information has been documented.Any information would be appreciated.I am also willing to share any information that I have. | |
