| I am researching the following families: CARNEY, CONWAY, COSTELLO, DONOVAN, and MCGONAGLE; and their descendants who originated from Ireland and eventually settled in the Waseca County area of Minnesota: CARNEY Descendants of Patrick (b. March 1812, IRL; d.28 Jan 1904, Waseca, MN) & Sarah ? Carney (b. abt. 1818, IRL; d.?) Patrick arrived in America around 1847. Daughters: Catherine, b. abt. 1850, Canada; Anna (b. 31 Jul 1853, either IL or WI; d. 29 Mar 1929, Waseca, MN; (m. Robert SHEEHAN and Francis CONWAY); and Margaret (b. abt. 1856 in WI; d. Unk); Sons: Thomas, b. abt. 1846, Canada; John, b. abt. 1848, Canada; and Timothy, b. abt. 1853, Illinois. CONWAY Descendants of Richard Conway (b. abt 1786, IRL; d.28 Dec 1868, Waseca, MN)& Mary FITZGERALD (b. abt 1799, IRL; d.11 May 1885, Waseca, MN). The Conways came to Waseca, MN abt. 1856. Their son Francis is known to have arrived in Montreal, CN abt. 1851. Children: (See report noted on the bottom of this page). Other related surnames include: BARDEN, BOUCHER, BYRON, COURTNEY, CULLITON, FRENCH, GLYNN, GOHLA, HOGAN, HOLMES, LANNON, LINNEHAN, MCDONOUGH, MUETZEL, NORTON, REIBLING, REIBOLD, and WELSH (to name a few). COSTELLO Descendants of John Costello (b. abt. 1814, Caheny, IRL; d. 14 Apr 1889, Janesville, MN) & Mary HOPKINS Children: (See report noted on the bottome of this page). Other related surnames include: CONNORS, MCCABE, and STUCY. DONOVAN Descendants of Timothy Donovan of County Cork, IRL & Ellen COVENY. Their two sons: Patrick and Cornelius emigrated to America and settled for a time in Wisconsin sometime before 1868. Eventually they settled in Woodville township, Waseca County, MN by 1869. Children: Patrick (b. abt. 1822, County Cork, IRL; d. 17 Aug 1902, Woodville twp, MN) never married. Cornelius (b. 1830, Dunmanway, County Cork, IRL; d. 7 Apr 1885, Waseca, MN) m. Mary MCNAMARA (b. Abt. 1842, County Cork, IRL; d. December 22, 1896, Woodville twp.,MN). Children of Cornelius and Mary: (See report noted on bottom of this page). Other related surnames include: BERG, GEHRING, GREENEY, HUNZIKER, SPILLANE, and WEYHE (to name a few). MCGONAGLE Descendants of Neil and Mary O'Donnell McGonagle both of Donegal, Ireland. They had the following sons: Michael,(born 10 Sep 1825); Hugh and Neil. Michael arrived in Boston abt. 1847 and eventually settled in Waseca, abt. 1856. (See report noted on bottom of this page).
