Services for Harold A. “Boots” Collins, age 87, of Newark, will be held at 10:00am Thursday, May 4, 2000, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson, Van Atta & Johnston Funeral Service with Pastor Bryan K. Grove officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Collins, a member of the First Christian Union Church, died Monday evening, May 1, at LPN Nursing Home.

Born April 30, 1913 in Newark, he was a son of the late Ora and Addie (Whyde) Collins.

Mr. Collins served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was retired from B&O Railroad where he was a Conductor/Brakeman.

He was a member of Aladdin Shrine Temple, Acme Blue Lodge F&AM #554, Eastern Star Lodge #551 and the VFW.

He is survived by:
Wife, Naomi (Wilson) Collins; Sons & daughter-in-law, Mike & Diana Collins of Nashport, Ora Roger Collins of London, OH; Daughters & son-in-law, Sandra & Bill Johns of Heath, Sherry Lynn Sellars of Newark; Daughter-in-law, Donna Collins of Bladensburg, OH.

12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren

Many nieces and nephews also survive

He was preceded in death by a son, John, two sisters and one brother.

Friends may call from 7-9pm Wednesday evening at the Newark Chapel, 59 North 5th Street, Newark where the Acme Lodge will conduct Masonic services at 6:45pm.
