I hope you can trace back & see where his people (this James Patton) came from in Texas. Adam R Patton born in 1843 married Elizabeth Jones born 1845. Both born at Lynchburg Tennessee Adam Riggs Patton was a taylor by trade and supplied all of the wearing apparrel of Jack Daniels Distillery. He made Jack Daniels hightop silk hats, his long tail cut away coats and hightop boots. As well as the workers in the destillery. When I went to Alabama to see Edwin when he pastored a church at Mt Grove Ala. I also talked with a brother in law of Jack Daniels that remembered my Grandfather Patton. Grandfather Adam R Patton had a brother at Lynchburg by the name of Burriel Patton, but I do not know their fathers name. Grandmother Patton's Mother was a widow and raised 5 girls by keeping the toll gate on the Pike 2 miles south of Lynchburg. The old fireplace is still standing where her home was. I doubt you can read all this as I have just come home from the Hosp as I had surgery on my right eye and have a patch on it and my left eye is very weak from not getting to use my glasses so long. Was glad to hear from you and do hope all are well. Why not come to see us or write & let us know how are all doing. J.C. got promoted to the Fish Hatchery and loves the work. He travels all over Texas and tags fish at the Lakes. Edwin & Jan are doing O.K. Edwin is still at State Hosp. as Dr Hall. Donna & boys are still here too. Must go as my eyes are refusing my writing. Love Flora B. H P.S. Pleas excuse such writing if you want the History of the Blessings I have a lot about them and the Nelsons I can give you when I get over this surgery.
