CYRUS JOINER was one of the earliest pioneer families who came to DeKalb county in 1837 with his wife Elmina. The Joiners settled and owned a large farm on Old State Road in Mayfield township. They were members of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Mayfield. Cyrus Joiner was elected as Road Commissioner, 1860-1870 for Mayfield township.
