Notes for Frances Jean Jones:
Frances Jean Jones ( August 27, 1957 - )

I was born at Los Alamos Medical Center, Los Alamos, NM, I believe around noon. I lived at 2738 A Walnut St., Los Alamos, NM from the time I was born until the summer of 1967. I went to Aspen Elementary School from Kindergarten through fourth grade. During the summer of 1967 we moved to 24 Loma del Escolar, Los Alamos, NM. I went to Barranca Mesa Elementary school for fifth and sixth grades, to Cumbres Junior High school for seventh through ninth grades, and to Los Alamos High School for tenth through twelfth. I went to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM for most of college, finally getting a B. S. in Computer Science in December 1982.

I remember when I was around 2, I saw an ice chest airing out in the front yard of the neighbors in the other half of the duplex. I climbed into it and closed the lid, thinking it would open, which it didn't. I guess I started screaming, and mom heard me and came outside and got me out.

I remember getting my middle finger on my right hand smashed in a door and having to get stitches in it. I think I was in second grade. We were having a Brownie meeting after school at Aspen, and someone knocked on the classroom door. Lorraine Whalen and I ran over to open the door. After the person came in, Lorraine closed the door, and my finger got caught in the door and was cut and started bleeding. Mom was either the Brownie Leader or Assistant, and she flipped out and spanked me, and I vaguely remember peeing in my pants. It was a total accident. We went over to the emergency room at the hospital. I think dad met us there. I got several stitches put in my finger.

I remember having an allergic attack to pomegranates. Again, I think I was in second grade. I had to stay in the hospital for a few days. I loved it in the hospital and did NOT want to go home.

During the summer of 1976, I worked at Yellowstone. I was a maid at Old Faithful Inn. It was a really neat summer. Vi Trujillo got me the job. I took the bus up from Santa Fe, NM. Barb, Vic, Sue, and Michelle came to get me.
"Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1987, Old Faithful Inn deserves a visit even if you're not staying there. Built in 1903/1904, this wondrous log hotel with its gabled roof stands to one side of Old Faithful Geyser."
"By Act of Congress on March 1, 1872, Yellowstone National Park was "dedicated and set apart as a public park or pleasuring ground for the benefit and enjoyment of the people" and "for the preservation, from injury or spoilation, of all timber, mineral deposits, natural curiosities, or wonders. . . and their retention in their natural condition." Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in the world."
