Notes for ANNE BLACKINGTON: 5. Captain JOHN4 TYLER (Ebenezer3 Samuel2 Job1) of Attleboro, Mass., was born at Attleboro September 19, 1724, and died there January 11, 1794. He married (6) Anna Blackington, who was born in Attleboro in 1722, and died August 23, 1793. [See History of Attleboro Pg 5 17) Ann Blackington: Her father was (7) Pentecost Blackington of Attleboro, who married before 1715 (8) Rebecca Figgett, by whom he had eight children, Peter, born 1731 being the youngest. Daggett's History of Attleboro says "he was a farmer, was a good citizen, law-abiding and God fearing, and died at a good old age." His father (9), Pentecost Blackington, Sr., "came from Marblehead or Dorchester about 1700," "he had lands and a house on Seven Mile River." His wife's name was Mary. He died September 24, 1715. (See Hist. of Attleboro, p. 5 17.) Buried in the Old Hatch Grave Yard. Located on the Boston and Providence Turnpike, formerly known as "Ye Olde Bay Road." |
