1. DELCENIA E.¹ JONES was born 1858 in N.C., and died 1932 in Saltville, Va.. She married (1) UNKNOWN. He died Unknown. She married (2) MILBURN "MILL" ESTEP 02 Aug 1909 in Johnson co., Tn., son of ISAAC ESTEP and ELIZABETH OLIVER. He was born Abt. 1859 in Tn., and died 13 Aug 1929 in Sadie Community, 18 miles from Elizabethton, TN..

Notes for DELCENIA E. JONES:
The first info I have on my Great Grandmother Delcenia is in the 1880 census, at this time she is the head of household, with her two sons William and my Grandfather Isaac. By the 1900 census William and Isaac were grown and out of the house. She is again listed as head of household, with two more of her children, Blane her son, and Jennie her daughter. She married Milburn Estep on Aug-2-1909, and is listed in his household in the 1910 census. They must have parted ways,(he died in 1929) because in the 1920 census, she is listed as head of household in Smyth Co., Va., with her daughter Jennie and her granddaughter Dora.( Jennie's husband Elbert died in 1917). In 1930, her daughter is listed as head of household, unmarried still, and her mother D.E. Estep is living with her.

I don't know if I will ever find out who the men were in her life earlier on or not. All I can do is keep plugging along, and hope that one day I will.

Evidently Delcenia and Milburn Estep had parted ways between 1910 and 1920. He died in 1929, with no mention of her in his obituary. I had assumed that she had passed away, until finding the census records below.

Elizabeth Cemetery, Saltville, Virginia
Elizabeth Cemetery is located beside Virginia Route 91 in the Corporate limits of the Town of Saltville, Virginia, next door to the local elementary school. This cemetery dates to at least the 1830s, and contains hundreds of graves.

August 2006:
I Visited the Elizabeth Cemetery, Delcenia, Virginia and a E.B. Jones are buried together. The Jones may be Delcenia's son Blane. The cemetery is well maintained by the city.

Evidently Mill and Delcenia seperated, in 1920 she was living with her daughter Jennie in Smyth Co., Va.

MILL ESTEP
Mill Estep, 63 years of age, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. James Cress, in Sadie Community, 18 miles from Elizabethton early today.
The deceased had been in ill health for several months.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. James Cress; one daughter, Miss Sarah Estep.

MILBOURNE ESTEP
Funeral rites for Milbourne Estep, 66, who died yesterday morning at his home in Sadie, were held this morning at the residence. The services were conducted by the Rev. W. A. Arnold.
Interment was made in Cress Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Tragler of Williamson, W. Va.
