      1. JOHAN CONRAD¹ RICKERT was born 1708 in GERMANY, and died March 11, 1787 in HOPEWELL TWP, YORK CO., PENNSYLVANIA. He married BARBARA (KANN?). She died July 1801 in HOPEWELL TWP., YORK CO., PENNSYLVANIA.

      York County Land Grants: Warrant 123, dated 26 October 1772, 50 acres, York Twp. Survey returned 29 march 1774, 42 acres called Richland. (Survey was done 26 October 1772) Patented to Conrad Reiger (Recherd) (AA-14-219) located 8 miles from the Town of York. Patent reads "adjoining his other land and Jacob Mecher and Zacharias Sugar/Shugart in York Twp.
Survey A: Conrad Rich (Recherd) Warrant Dated 31 May 1762, 100 acres survey returned to Spangler, 1810. After Conrad, this land was held by William Recherd. Conrad lived in Manor Twp., Lancaster Co., prior to 1762.

      At 1st Trinity Reformed, York, Johann Conrad son of Johann Jacob Michael and Magdalena Elizabeth (Buchmann), born January 01, 1763, baptized March 27, 1765. Sponsors: Johann Conrad Richard and his wife Anna Barbara.

      It is possible that Johan Conrad came from the Palatine, and arrived October 02, 1741 at Philadelphia on the ship St. Andrew from Rotterdam, Capt. Charles Stedman. It is also possible that he spent some time in Germantown, before coming to Lancaster Co. This area needs much more work. There is a family of Rickerts, including Johannes, Leonard, Jacob and William and others. There is no actual connection that I know of. There are records at the German Reformed Church at Germantown, which was an area of Philadelphia.

      There is a headstone in St. John's (Blymire's Church) Cemetery that is listed as Magdalena Reiger. The dates are illegible.
