I have been researching the RICKERT/REHARD and allied lines for over 35 years. The spelling can be varied. You can find RECHERT, RECHARD, RECHERD, REICHARD, REICHERD, RICKERT, RICKART, RICKARD, REIGERT, RIGERT, REIGHARD, REHERD, REHEARD, REAHARD, REHEARD, REACHARD, REHARD, RYHARD, RIHARD, RHEARD, RECHER, REIGER, RICHARD, etc. I have a large amount of information that is not connected as of yet. There is at present no satisfactory method of putting it on line, so if you think you might have a connection please contact me at my e-mail address and I will check my records for anything that might be helpful. These records go to Lancaster and York Counties in Pennsylvania in the 1750-1850 period. I am always happy to share my information. If you have corrections, please let me know. PLEASE NOTE!! There is a book that was written by Charles Jerome Berry, in 1926, self-published in Minneapolis, Minn. "The RICHARD GENEALOGY: being a record of Charles and Jacob Richard and all their known descendants". This is,in fact, a record of: 1)CHARLES REICHARD, (with all the spelling variations), who was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and ELIZABETH STAUCH (STOUGH?). In addition to Berks County, he lived also in Franklin, Dauphine, Cumberland and Westmoreland Counties of Pennsylvania. 2) It is also a record of Jacob REICHERT, (again, with all various spellings)who married into Charles' line. He also came out of Pennsylvania. The account of Jacob given in the History of Wood County, Ohio states that Jacob was married five times and had children by four of his wives, however, the name of only one (Polly Radebaugh) is given. This makes things more difficult. There are 9 children listed, however, Polly is known to be the mother of only one child, John. "Jacob Richard was born July 31, 1803, near Pleasant Unity, Unity township, Westmoreland Co., Penn., the second child but first son of John and Mary (Poorman) Richard. His grandparents were Jacob and Polly (Radebaugh) Richard, both of whom were residents of Franklin County. His grandfather was married five times, and had children by four of his wives." THE GENEALOGY OF THE CLAFLIN FAMILY, BEING A RECORD OF ROBERT MACKCLOTHAN OF WENHAM, MASS. AND OF HIS DESCENDENTS, written by Charles Henry Wight, published by the Press of William Green, New York, 1905. This was done so that everyone who does not have access to the book can find the information. I would be happy to have any corrections and/or information that people are willing to share, the only stipulation is that it will be of free access to everyone. I DO NOT HAVE COPIES TO SELL. Please note!! I recently had a problem with my computer, and some of the more recently sent information may have been lost. If you have sent information that does not appear in the book, please get in touch with me.
