We're John and Elizabeth Jordan, and we're seeking to acquire and exchange information regarding our ancestors, who resided largely in the southeastern United States from Virginia to Mississippi. Our families include the following surnames: Jordan, Kennedy, Nunley, Shackleford, Hunt, Moody, Odom, Gober, Gallimore, Burns, Shook, Marlar, Holder, Woodruff, Dobbs, Campbell, Wynn, Riddle, Rushing, White, Metcalf, Harman, and Meekin; and Douglas, McCain, Harpole, Reynolds, Fulgham, Arnold, Hood, Harrison, Turnbow, Buntin, Barnett, Gresham, Meriwether, Scott, Upshaw, and Winfield.

    Mary Belle Campbell was born in Chesterfield Co., SC, and died in Harmon Co., OK. She was the wife of Joshua R. Jordan and the mother of at least 10 children.
  • James Monroe "Judge" Jordan (1844-1912) (45 KB)
    James Monroe Jordan was the oldest son of Joshua and Mary Jordan. He was born in Paulding Co., Ga, and died in Franklin Co., AL. He and his wife, Sarah C. Gober, had 12 children.
  • Sidney Albert Jordan and Family (393 KB)
    Sid Jordan (1874-1934)was the seventh child of James and Sarah Jordan. He and Mary Angela Hunt had 2 additional children, one of which died in infancy. The baby is John's paternal grandfather.
