Information on the Voss family goes back to Nicholar Voss who was born about 1730. He was probably born in Kessel Germany. The "Voss" name is quite popular in Germany and is said to mean "Fox". I have not been able to establish any connection between this family and other persons with the "Voss" name living in the U.S.
Kessel is about 5 miles South West of Moyland. The towns shown as those in which the family lived are all quite close to where the Reinders lived. I do not have any information on their occupation, but it was most likely farming.
