Gramma Mary was a beautiful person, from the mind and the soul as well. She was so happy and would tell me stories in English and German. She would tell me about Indians and sing me songs in their dialect and at times sing to me in French. We would have cookies or German coffeecake together while exchanging thoughts. She was so interested in my school, sports and scouting. A sincere and delightfully grand mother.
Maria and Eckhard were twins born june 23, 1855. There were 8 other siblings.
