| Only in Hawaii if you talk story with someone long enough you will probably find a common link. It might be that the person you have been working with for the past 25 years is a relative. It often starts with what school did you go to and then it moves to inquiries of a name such as Mattos, Kaaiai, Hoopii, Kahaunaele or Andrade. Or it may be asking about Kakazu, Joseph, Torres, Oliver, Caesar, Falk, Higa or Wise. Our search for family often reveals interesting information. Sometimes good and other times we are surprised with what is discovered. It might uncover history that has long been forgotten or has yet to be told. It could mean that the young man or woman your daughter or son has been dating is a relative....yet to be discovered. Such instances have already occurred. Also be careful when speaking to someone and what you say, for the person you are talking about or with could be a relative. There is only one Kaaiai family, so whether they are in-law or outlaw, if they're a Kaaiai, they're related. The Elder 1 (Ola Boy) |
