My grandmother Jessie was the dau. of Hiram and Aurora (Magner) Hammond. The wife of Ervine Eugene Kaherl. This picture was taken during the depression years in Winthrop, Maine. Grammy Jessie had a gas powered washing machine that sounded like an outboard motor, she use to take in laundry. At one time she was a bootlegger (during prohibition). She worked hard to raise her family during the great depression. I never knew her, but she must have been a colorful woman.
