Notes for Virginia Mastos:
Virginia came into the Kaisler family in 1948 when she married Jerome Kaisler. She was 35 years old at that time and it was her first marriage.
Virginia was born and raised in Racine. She completed only an elementary education. She was of Greek descent and was a member of a Greek Orthodox Church in Racine.
Virginia worked for Hamilton Beach Manufacturing Company in Racine, Wisconsin from 1931 until 1963 when the company went out of business. She was an electrical assembler. This company manufactured small electrical appliances. The 1960's was a time when these companies were leaving the northern part of the United States for the southern part to secure low wage employees.
She then worked for another small electrical appliance firm - Lamb Ametic Systems -in Racine as an electrical assembler. She worked there until she retired in 1973.
She and Jerome were married in a civil ceremony.
She loved her home and always kept it well decorated.
She and Jerome kept in close contact with the Kaisler family and socialized frequently with family members.
Jerome's death was a painful experience for Virginia. Not only did she regret losing him but she was in the hospital recovering from an automobile accident in which she had a serious head injury.
A few years after Jerome's death, Virginia sold her home in Racine and moved to Stuart, Florida where she purchased a ground level condominium in a new and modern development. The development is located several miles west of Stuart, Florida. Virginia moved there to be closer to her family. She had a close relationship with her brother's wife. Her brother has a condo in the same development. She made the transfer quite well and enjoyed living in Florida. Several years after moving to Florida, she had health problems. She had to have knee surgery and a hip replacement. She also had some financial problems. It seemed that her income did not keep up with inflation and she had some difficulty paying off the mortgage on the condo.
Virginia died on March 29, 1996 from a stroke at her home in Florida. She was taken to the hospital but never recovered. Her body was taken back to Racine and she was buried in West Lawn Cemetery next to her husband Jerome.
Virginia was of Greek origin. She was dark in complexion. She had dark hair all of her life. She stayed relatively slim all of her life. She was never overweight or robust.
