| I am researching the family of PATRICK JOHN HAYES (HAYS) from PORTAGE, WISCONSIN. Patrick was b.~1819 in Limerick, Ireland. He came to the US in Sept. 1845 landing in New, York. From there he moved to Portage, WI Fort Winnebago area. The 1850 WI census shows that he was married April 22,1850 to an ELLEN ROWLAND b.~1833 in Ireland and d.~June 12,1863 in Ft. Winnebago,WI. They had 4 children: Margaret b:~1852 and d:?; Mary E. b:~1856 and d:?; John Patrick b:March 13,1857(my great grandfather) and d:Aug. 30, 1930; and Michael Charles b:~1859 and d:?. Patrick remarried to a ANNA O'HAERE (HUERE)b:~1828 in Ireland and d:?. They had 1 son Daniel T. Hayes b:Feb.1870 and d:?. Daniel married Nov.29,1898 to a MARTHA MCMAHON SWEENEY and she had 4 children from a previous. I was able to find that Daniel and Martha had 2 children: Charles P. b:1901 and d:1902; and Margaret b:1903 and d:?. I am trying to find out what happened to the families of Daniel, Margaret, Mary E. and Michael and if there is any family still alive. I also know that Patrick married for a 3rd time to a BRIDGET LYNCH REGAN in 1872 or 1873.They had no children. However on an interesting note: Bridget had 3 children from a previous marriage and her daughter Mary Elizabeth Regan married my great grandfather John Patrick Hayes and they had 10 children.
