The families I am researching are mostly from the Northeast Ohio region. My Great-grandfather Peter VACIK was born in Bohemia on 28 December, 1853. He immigrated to the United States around 1880-1881. He was married to Barbara (LAZNA) VACIK. At the present time I have found that they resided in Cleveland, Ohio and had four children. There names were Rose (born about 1886), Peter (my grandfather) he was born 10 May,1888, Anna (born about1890) and Barbara who died at one month old in Jan 1893.
My Great-grandmother Barbara also passed away in February 1893 from Tuberculosis. My Great-grandfather Peter VACIK remarried a woman by the name of Magdeline (KOHOUT) FAY. She had also been married once before. She had one son from that marriage,. His name was John FAY.
My Grandfather Peter VACIK married my Grandmother Anna (Antonia) MALY on 24 June, 1920. They had 5 children, Clarence, Peter, Vincent, Anna and Edward. Edward was my father. He was born 13 June, 1939.
My Grandmother Anna's parents were Vincent (Vincenz,Vinzenz) MALY (he was born in Kolin, Bohemia on 26 July, 1862)and his wife Kate (Catherine) BRAZDA was born in Kourin, Bohemia. They resided in Cleveland, Ohio in Cuyahoga County around 1900. My Grandma Anna was born 27 February, 1900.
I am also researching the KANGAS, ELDRIDGE, FORBES AND SCHOEMAKER surnames. The families with these names are from Ashtabula and Geauga County Ohio. My ADOPTED Grandfather Ray (Reino) KANGAS was born 11 February, 1906. He married Irene Alice ELDRIDGE. she was born 28 July, 1907. They had 3 children. Donna, Darlene and Dennison (my ADOPTED father). The family resided in the townships of Thompson and Madison Ohio. The KANGAS surname is of Finnish origin. Ray (Reino) KANGAS's parents were Matti KANGAS and Katri WEHKA. All that is known is that Katri his mother whom was pregnant with him fled Finland with her other children during the early 1900's. She fled after her husband Matti had been killed in a revolt or uprising in Finland.
