Inscription on plaque for church reads ; St. Mary's Church erected on this site in 1851 was one of the earliest churches in Manvers Twp. It was dedicated on Christmas Day 1852. On Ash Wednesday 1993, fire levelled the orginal structure and this new Chapel was constructed. It was dedicated on June 22, 1997. As an act of faith, restoration of this sanctuary symbolizes hope, dedication and renewal in the community as act of remembrance, St. Mary's Chapel honours our founding pioneers and all those now at rest in this churchyard.
