This is a photo of Isaac Preston Sr., born Jan. 01, 1777 in the Parish of Market Hill, County of Armagh, Ireland. He was the son of Alexander Preston, who was in turn, son of Matthew Preston. Isaac Sr. married Aug. 10, 1801, Sarah Jane Porter, daughter of Capt. Matthew Porter and Marie of France. Sarah Jane Porter was born circa 1781 in Donegal, Ireland. She died circa 1866 in Manvers Twp. and Isaac in 1875. Isaac is said to have served in the British Army in his youth and to have been a member of one of the first Orange Lodges over in Ireland. Isaac Preston Sr. had also been in prison in New York State during the War of 1812, as a British sympathizer.
