Catherine S. Exline, 89, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Nov. 26, 1914, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Clark E. and Catherine Klemann Maxwell. Prior to retirement, she had been a secretary for the Salvation Army of Greensburg, where she was a proud member, bandsman and Home League secretary. She always loved her undying relationship with "The Army." She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, the Catherine Bortz Class of the church, the Monday Sewing Circle at First Presbyterian Church, Greensburg, and the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Exline Sr., on Aug. 18, 1977; a son-in-law, Robert A. Blatnik; her sister, Florence M. Contic; and two stepfathers, John Koring and Carl Long. She is survived by a son, Walter L. Exline Jr. and his wife, Violet, of Memphis, Tenn.; two daughters, Dolores E. Blatnik and Barbara A. Exline, both of Greensburg; two grandsons, Anthony F. Blatnik and his wife, Gayle, of Memphis, Tenn., and Robert L. Blatnik, of Greensburg, and his friend, Cheryl Nelson; three great-grandchildren, Justin, Garrett and Melissa Catherine Blatnik, all of Memphis, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Lester G. Dornberger, of Greensburg. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
