| My genealogy includes the following names and places of the Watkins family I'm researching. This site will be added to as my research progresses. On my fathers side of the family are WATKINS from the Bristol, Gloucestershire, England and surrounding area from about the 1740's. The Watkins descendants I'm researching in the United States were in New York City and New York state, Connecticut, New Jersey and Texas. Descendants of Thomas Watkins. He married Mary Kindon 28 April 1747 in England. John Watkins his son was born about 1748 in England. He died 21 September 1829 in Stapleton, Gloucestershire, England and is buried at Holy Trinity. He was married to Sarah Spender. John and Sarah Watkins had three known children: William Watkins born 1 December 1777 in England, Sarah Watkins born 11 September 1782 in Stapleton. Gloucestershire, England, died 27 January 1863 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England and John Watkins who died 27 January 1863. William Watkins was born 1 December 1777 in England. He died 31 August 1854 in Rochester, Monroe, New York. He married Lucy Lancaster 29 October 1811 in Temple Church, Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. She died 5 September 1854. They are both buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester, New York. Their children were all born in Bristol, Gloustershire, England. Sarah Ann Watkins born 25 July 1812, died 9 September 1854 in Rochester, Monroe, New York. John Lancaster Watkins born February 1814 and died abt. July 1814. William Watkins born 6 April 1815 and died April 1815 John Lancaster Watkins born 7 March 1816 and died 27 October 1901 in Jersey City, Hudson, New Jersey. Elizabeth Watkins born 13 October 1818 and died abt. January 1819 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. William Augustus Watkins 9 December 1819, died 6 April 189? in Kansas? Lucy Sophia Watkins born 17 July 1821. Robert Lane Watkins born 28 October 1822, died 12 July 1905 in Norwalk, Fairfield, Connecticut. Henry Moor Watkins born 10 January 1824, died 17 May 1898 in New York City, New York, New York. Elizabeth Mary Watkins born 15 August 1825. Emma Spender Watkins born 15 June 1827, died March???
