The Cavalcade of Kostering's

I have had a lot of fun researching my family history, especially the history on my father's side of the family. If you have any information about his ancestors dating back as far as the 1600's, I would appreciate hearing from you as I am in the process of writing a book and would love to fill in the few gaps that appear. His last name was KOSTERING and his ancestors orginally came from Germany and then moved to Holland (The Netherlands) and eventually my family immigrated to Canada. There is an "arm" of the family that settled in California, USA and another one that settled in a remote area of British Columbia, Canada called Big Bar Creek.

What I am specifically trying to figure out is if my great-great grandfather, Daniel Diedrik Kostering Vulgo Lindemeir had a couple of brothers. One who stayed in Germany and one who may have immigrated to the United States with two sons named Charles W. Kostering (who eventually settled in San Francisco, California) and Conrad Frederick Kostering (who eventually settled in Big Bar Creek, British Columbia, Canada)
