I'm searching for any relatives, information, and history of Keating ancestors listed in this site and attached reports. Specifically, I am searching for several descendants of my great-great grandparents Timothy and Catherine (Connell) Keating of the Rockhill area of north County Cork. Children and grandchildren of Timothy and Catherine settled in Jacksonville IL and I have traced many of them and met several of them online through the Great Keating Search (please visit www.keatingsearch.com). I'm looking for relatives of those branches in the US, as well as any relatives in Ireland, some of whom remain in what is now the Meelin/Newmarket area of Co. Cork.
A bit of detail--TIMOTHY KEATING was born Abt. 1805 in Ireland, and died Abt. 1865 in Ireland. He married CATHERINE CONNELL Mar 2, 1824 in Ireland. Children of TIMOTHY KEATING and CATHERINE CONNELL are:
(1). MICHAEL KEATING, b. 1828, County Cork, Ireland; d. Feb 10, 1902, County Cork, Ireland.
(2). MARGARET KEATING, b. Nov 1829, Rockchapel, Co. Cork, Ireland; d. Mar 31, 1902, Jacksonville, Illinois.
(3). MARY KEATING, b. Abt. 1834, Ireland; d. Oct 5, 1872, Jacksonville, Illinois.
(4). CATHERINE KEATING, b. Dec 23, 1836, Ireland; d. Aft. 1901, Ireland.
(5). DAVID KEATING, b. Abt. 1839, Rockhill, Co. Cork, Ireland.
(6). DANIEL T. KEATING, b. Aug 14, 1840, Ireland; d. Feb 18, 1933, Jacksonville, Illinois.
(7). EDWARD KEATING, b. Aug 1, 1851, County Cork, Ireland; d. Dec 18, 1943, Chicago, Illinois.

Census records first show Edward Keating in Jacksonville in 1870, and Daniel T. Keating first appears in the 1880 Morgan County Census. Daniel was a plasterer in Jacksonville. His first wife was HANORIA MURPHY, daughter of ___ MURPHY and ___ GUFFIN, and his second wife was MARY FLANNIGAN whom he married on Feb 20, 1871 in Jacksonville, Illinois. Daniel's obituary states that he was survived by a son, Timothy A. Keating of Seattle; five daughters, Mrs. Fred E. Hubsch (identified as Helen from the church records) of Winnetka, Il, Mrs. Robert E. McBride (Kathryan per church records), Misses Minnie, Margaret and Theresa Keating at home; and five grandchildren, Bernice, Helen, Margaret and Louise Hubsch, Winnetka, IL, and Mrs. Merle Smedley of Jacksonville.

EDWARD KEATING, my great grandfather and last child of Timothy and Catherine Keating of County Cork, married MARY ELIZABETH RYAN Sep 23, 1877 in Jacksonville, Illinois, daughter of MICHAEL RYAN and ___ DRYDEN. Edward Keating first appears in the 1871-1872 Jacksonville City Directory in which he is listed as a bartender. By 1880-1881 he is the owner of a saloon and billiard hall. In later volumes, Edward is listed in various lines of business: wines, liquors & cigars, soft drinks & insurance, insurance & real estate. Edward died December 18, 1943 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John E. Boland, Chicago.
