George Keener (Keiner/Kuhner) Home Page

I am currently researching KEENER family history of Southern York County, PA. I have information tracing back to George Keener (b. 1753). His surname has also appeared as Keiner and Kuhner. This Keener family lived principally in Lower Chanceford Twp, York County, PA. According to church records, George married Veronika Stettler on 3-5-1776. They had 6 children: Henry (b.2-11-1777), Catharina (b.4-1780), George Jr. (b.4-24-1781), John (b. 8-22-1785), Barbara (b.1787), and Jacob (b. 3-28-1802).
In June 1998 I received information connecting George Keener (b 1753) to Adam Keiner (b ~1710, Germany) who immigrated to America in 1727 along with his brothers(?) Hans and William. This information suggests that Adam had a son, John, who married Sarah Kuster. John then sired George while living in Warwick Township, Lancaster Co, PA. This information conflicts with DAR records that say George was born at sea. I'm inclined to believe this new information but would like some documentation to back it up.

I am particularly interested in gathering "social" information, such as occupations, hobbies, etc., in order to "paint" a picture of the family throughout history.
